LONG BEACH TECHNOLOGY SECTOR LAUNCHED - COMPANIES SIGN-UP AT TECHBEACH.NET

Long Beach, CA - October 18, 2001 -TechBeach.net, the City's only technology business portal, launched today amid great anticipation from both the public and private sector. TechBeach.net has been in development since May 2000 and was created and primarily funded by ASTRALcom Internet Solutions. Other important key partners, including The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Pajo Networks, The Long Beach Business Journal and LongBeachCulture.org. have donated valuable resources and materials to this initiative.

"TechBeach.net will define, aggregate, and empower municipal, community, corporate, and institutional resources so that they can be coordinated into a powerful tool to promote the development of Technology businesses in Long Beach," explained Richard Bergér of ASTRALcom. "TechBeach.net is also where potential relocating companies can learn more about what Long Beach has to offer by way of technology, real estate and supporting resources," added Bergér.

On partnering with TechBeach.net, Randy Gordon, President and CEO of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce commented, "Technology is one of the Chamber's major focus areas … The Chamber is very pleased to partner with TechBeach.net and understands the tremendous potential this business portal has."

Unlike other local technology initiatives that include Long Beach along with other competing cities attracting technology businesses, TechBeach.net is focused solely on Long Beach and promotes the City from within. "In establishing a 'technology cluster,' as in the case of our City," offers Bergér, "the necessary first step is to organize the resources and entities that presently exist within our City. The real power of what we are developing, "continued Bergér, "lies in leveraging what we already have."

"We are very excited to partner with ASTRALcom by incorporating Tech Edge into TechBeach.net as it launches a vitally important communications tool for the Long Beach community," stated George Economides, publisher of the Long Beach Business Journal. "We anticipate that TechBeach.net will evolve as an important contributor toward this city's goal of becoming a hub for technology-related businesses."

In short, TechBeach.net enables the synergy and transfer of technology and information between participating companies and entities that is needed to further the City's strategic objectives. As such, TechBeach.net acts as a central "location" from which technology initiatives and policies will be developed and implemented in relation to the City's Strategic Initiatives.
