Professional Volleyball Hits the New York Area.

    Long Beach, NY, July 12, 2004: Island Beach Volleyball Association (IBVB) will host its third annual Long Beach American Classic Beach Volleyball Tournament at Riverside Boulevard Beach in Long Beach, NY on July 17th and 18th, 2004. This spectacular weekend event will again award more than $13,000 in guaranteed cash and prizes to the top 9 Men's and top 5 Women's Open and AA division teams as well as the Co-ed and Quad divisions.

    Since its debut in July of 2002, the Long Beach American Classic has quickly become one of the biggest beach volleyball tournaments in the United States by offering the largest cash prizes in the East Coast. IBVB partners, Ralph Caiaccio and Dairo Chamorro, originally created this two-day event to promote beach volleyball at Long Beach, N.Y. and introduce players from the West to the East Coast beaches. Last year's tournament drew more than 350 players from the U.S. and Hawaii. This year, 15 of the top 50 professional players in the United States are scheduled to participate.

    In association with the Toyota Pro Beach Tour and Jersey Shore Volleyball, and with the growing support of the community and sponsors, professional, novice and recreational players will be playing for an increased purse under the Long Beach sun. Complementary food and drinks will be provided to all participants. There will also be contests and give-a-ways for participants and spectators throughout the weekend.
